Hana: On a good day, I start my morning without pressing snooze a thousand times and get a workout in. The rest of the morning consists of a walk with my dog and a podcast (usually the TED Radio Hour). At the end of the walk I grab a cup of coffee and head to work.
Angelica: Truth be told, I’m not a morning person. Luckily, I love working at Chamoy and the office opens at 9:30am which is great for someone like me. A cup of black coffee and some upbeat tunes power my morning routine– lately it’s been the sounds of ABBA or Ozuna.
Hana: I unload my bag which contains typical office essentials, including the same pencil I’ve been using for at least 2 years. The first thing I do is check the social media calendar. The rest of the morning is spent performing community management, optimizing existing ads, research, etc.
Angelica: The first thing I like to do is tidy up my space as my notes tend to pile up throughout the day. On a really great day, we get breakfast tacos because food powers the creative process. Next, I go about checking our client’s social accounts, answering comments/messages, and posting any content for the day.
Hana: Most of the creative process happens in the afternoon which includes collaborating with the creative team, copywriting, photo shoots, you name it! SMCs have their hands dipped in all departments to ensure the final product reflects the client’s brand and message.
Angelica: Team brainstorms happen around this time. I also try to knock out analytic reporting, assist with shoots, and monitor ads. So if you’re still wondering, no, I don’t just sit on Facebook all day, but that’s a pretty common misconception!
Hana: I try and find a stopping point for the tasks I’m working on and prepare for the next day. This usually entails adding tasks to my to-do list and setting any necessary reminders on my handy-dandy iPhone.
Angelica: I usually use the evening to address any creative feedback. The team and I usually make the requested adjustments to send off to clients by EOD. I take one last sweep of all social accounts, add reminders for the next day to my puppy memo pad and call it a day!
